Be Part of the InterMountain Beef Team!

At InterMountain Beef, we’ve been raising the bar for cattle care since 1946. As a Cattle Welfare Crew Member, you’ll play a key role in keeping our cattle healthy and happy, while working with a dedicated team that treats animals—and each other—with respect.
What You’ll Do

You’ll be right in the heart of our feedyard operations, supporting cattle health, daily care, and animal welfare. Here’s a look at your core responsibilities:

Cattle Health & Care
Help with daily health checks of all cattle pens, spotting and reporting any signs of illness or distress.
Administer treatments to sick or injured cattle (as directed by a team lead or veterinarian) and follow all approved protocols.
Keep the cattle hospital clean, sanitary, and bio-secure at all times.
Accurately record treatments, medications, and health observations in our management systems.
Support the Cattle Welfare Team Lead in managing the hospital area.
Lend a hand to the Processing Team whenever needed.
Perform post-mortems as directed, documenting with photos when required.

Equipment & Facility Upkeep
Inspect and maintain assigned equipment daily, ensuring it’s clean and in good working order.
Follow safety protocols for equipment operation and maintenance.
Help keep all animal handling areas—including hospital and processing barns—clean and organized.
Report any equipment or facility issues to your team lead or manager.

Administrative & Teamwork
Maintain accurate records of cattle health, treatments, and activities.
Track medicine inventory and report any shortages or discrepancies.
Work closely with your team lead and manager to ensure all data is entered accurately.
Stay current with industry best practices in cattle health and management.
Pitch in wherever needed across the feedyard.

Other Responsibilities
Adhere to all protocols for medicine usage, storage, and handling.
Ensure proper euthanasia procedures are always followed.
Obtain and keep up with required certifications (like LT-30, BQA) as directed.
Support other feedyard operations as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
A genuine respect for animal welfare and a commitment to high standards of care.
Strong attention to detail, especially with record-keeping and data entry.
Team player with clear communication skills.
Ability to follow all safety and company protocols.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new practices or technologies.
Experience with cattle or livestock is a plus, but not required—we’ll train the right person!
How We Measure Success
Consistently supporting animal health and well-being.
Assisting in efficient and timely cattle processing.
Communicating and collaborating effectively with the team.
Keeping records and data accurate and up-to-date.
Following all safety and compliance standards.
Contributing to problem-solving and decision-making.
