Join the InterMountain Beef Team!
Since 1946, InterMountain Beef has been a leader in ethical and sustainable cattle operations. As a Feeding Crew Member, you’ll play a crucial part in ensuring our cattle are healthy, well-fed, and thriving. You’ll be part of a close-knit team dedicated to
quality, safety, and care.
What You’ll Do
As a Feeding Crew Member, you’ll be responsible for making sure our cattle get the right feed at the right time, every day. You’ll operate feeding equipment, keep everything running smoothly, and help monitor the health of our herds. Here’s what your day might
look like:
Feeding Operations
Accurately and promptly feed cattle according to schedules and rations set by the Feeding Manager.
Stick to the “4 R’s”: Right time, Right pen, Right ration, Right amount—making sure every pen gets exactly what it needs.
Ensure no pen is overfed or underfed by more than 50 lbs of the scheduled ration.
Equipment & Facility Maintenance
Inspect and maintain feeding equipment daily—trucks, loaders, and more—keeping everything clean, fueled, and ready.
Report any equipment issues and perform routine maintenance as needed.
Help keep the Micro Room, Feed Slab, Slurry Pit, and feed storage areas clean and organized.
Cattle Health & Monitoring
Keep an eye on cattle health, reporting concerns like low water, injuries, or animals out of place to the right team members.
Assist with cleaning feed bunks, especially when cattle are moved or as directed by the management system.
Inventory & Supply
Help unload and restock feed and supplies for the Feeding Department.
Teamwork & Safety
Bring a positive, team-focused attitude to work every day.
Follow all company safety protocols and OSHA requirements.
Report any safety concerns to the Feeding Manager and attend scheduled safety trainings.
General Support
Make sure feed bunks are clear of debris and hazards before feeding.
Pitch in with any other tasks assigned by leadership.
What We’re Looking For
Attention to detail—you care about accuracy and punctuality.
Reliability and willingness to follow protocols.
Team player attitude and good communication skills.
Ability to operate and maintain equipment (we’ll train the right person!).
Commitment to animal welfare and safety on the job.
How We Measure Success
Consistently feeding the right rations at the right times (“4 R’s” compliance).
Keeping equipment clean, maintained, and ready to go.
Staying alert to cattle health and reporting issues quickly.
Following safety protocols and company policies.
Working well with your team and contributing to a positive environment.
Taking initiative and helping solve problems as they arise.
