What You’ll Do

As a Cattle Processing Crew Member, you’ll be hands-on with all aspects of cattle care and processing at our feedyard. Your focus will be on animal welfare, efficient operations, and keeping our cattle healthy and productive. Here’s what your day-to-day might
look like:

Cattle Processing & Care
Assist with receiving and processing new cattle, following all company, BQA, and veterinary protocols.
Help with vaccinations, health checks, preg-checks, implantations, and other routine processing tasks.
Move and sort cattle safely and efficiently.
Support branding, tagging, and accurate record-keeping in our cattle management systems.
Help with shipping, sorting, weighing, and loading cattle.
Double-check cattle counts and ensure the right lots are loaded and shipped.
Lend a hand to the Cattle Welfare Crew or wherever needed.

Equipment & Facility Upkeep
Inspect and maintain assigned equipment daily, keeping everything clean and in working order.
Follow all safety protocols for equipment use and maintenance.
Keep barns and cattle handling areas tidy and organized.
Report any maintenance issues to your team lead or manager.

Administrative & Teamwork
Keep detailed, accurate records of cattle health, treatments, and processing activities.
Track medicine inventory and report shortages or discrepancies.
Collaborate with your team lead and manager to make sure data entry is spot-on.
Stay current on best practices in cattle health and management.
Interact with clients or visitors in a professional, friendly manner.

Other Responsibilities
Follow all protocols for medicine usage, storage, and handling.
Ensure proper euthanasia procedures are followed when necessary.
Obtain and maintain required certifications (like LT-30, BQA) as directed.
Jump in to help in other feedyard operations as needed.
What We’re Looking For
A genuine respect for animals and commitment to their welfare.
Strong attention to detail, especially with record-keeping and data entry.
Willingness to work as part of a team and communicate clearly.
Ability to follow safety protocols and company policies.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new practices or technologies.
Previous experience with cattle or livestock is a plus, but not required—we’re happy to train the right person!
How We Measure Success
Supporting animal health and well-being every day.
Helping the team process cattle efficiently and accurately.
Communicating and collaborating with coworkers.
Keeping records and data accurate and up-to-date.
Following safety and compliance standards at all times.
Contributing to problem-solving and decision-making on the job.
